Obituary

 

Charlie Mae Haynie Booker was given life by William (Coote) and Viola Meadow Haynie, on August 25, 1929.  Attended primary school in Stamden , AR and Shreveport , LA.   She graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School in Houston , TX and attended Dillard University in New Orleans , LA.  She also completed courses at Compton College and UCLA.  

After staying at home to raise her daughter for nearly 12 years, she began working for Sears Roebucks.  She worked for 25 years with the Los Angeles County Health Department, earned her Real Estate license, and finished with 8 years at the Office of Aging in Riverside County .

 Charlie Mae Haynie Booker is survived by daughter Sandra Davilia Washington Wilson and spouse Paul L. Wilson III, her loving grandchildren Keela, Christie, and Paul L. Wilson IV, and step-daughter Cheri. Siblings: Gladys Haynie and Earnest Haynie of Los Angeles ; Willie V.  Stewart and Verline Payton of Houston , TX ; Geraldine Haynie, deceased. Nieces and nephew: Cynathia Bell; Carol Payton; Gail Payton-Park of Houston; Violet Payton-Killens of Flower Mount, TX; Earnest Haynie and Annice Haynie of Dallas, TX. She also leaves behind long time close friend Lucille Bennett, numerous grand nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.

 Married to: David Washington, deceased and Earnest Booker, deceased.
